It never fails…our brides and grooms have the best weddings ever! Weddings that are some of the the most unique, heartfelt, and special days you can imagine. Piper and Matt were no exception. Their wedding day was truly a celebration of their relationship and future together. All of the details that they planned were such a reflection of their fun and adventurous spirit. They got engaged at Machu Picchu during their year-long trip around the world. Yes, you read that right – a year of travels around the world! They had so much fun with the llamas in Peru there that they decided to bring some in for their wedding guests to take photographs with. Adorable! All the bright green and yellow colors set the stage for an absolutely beautiful day.
The entire bridal party got ready downtown at the Gaslamp Marriott where many of the family and guests were staying. We scouted out a number of spots for photos and found the perfect place over at Petco Park for their first look. This gave us the chance to wander all around around the Gaslamp and Park at the Park afterward. We were seriously spoiled for choice! We even got access to the helipad on the Marriott rooftop.
Everyone then traveled back to Casa Bonita (Matt’s mom & stepdad’s home) for an amazing backyard ceremony and reception complete with Mexican food, mariachis, and an iPod playlist to die for. After the ceremony, we snuck away to a little trail just up the hill and took some more photos. I told them the light was incredible and that they were glowing…literally and figuratively. I LOVE when we have the opportunity to get a few more shots after the ceremony. The bride and groom are in such a state of euphoria that it is impossible to take a bad photo.
Piper and Matt, we can’t tell you how much it meant to be a part of your wedding day. It was truly perfect! We hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon and celebrating the start of this next chapter in your lives. We’re looking forward to your next visit back down south so we can hang out again. Pizza and beer perhaps? We just want you to know that we’re so thrilled our relationship with you guys has turned into a wonderful friendship…we love you 🙂
