One of my favorite things that we do every year to commemorate our boys’ birthdays is to take their annual birthday photos. We always let them choose the theme and then we decide together how to creatively make it happen. The year that Corbin loved pirates, we took photos on the Star of India in his favorite pirate costume. Last year, he wanted to wear a helicopter hat and take pictures at the zoo. This year, he wanted Harry Potter pictures just like his big brother 🙂 We are lucky enough to have a good friend with a son (now in college) that also loved Harry Potter so we borrowed all of his gear and had a blast!

Corbin, I hope these photos will always remind you of the fun and magic you bring to our family. We love your imagination, your enthusiasm, your silly faces, and all of the joy you bring to our family. We wish you the most magical year ever!

One beautiful thing about springtime is that gives me a little bit of a breather after a very busy fall and winter season. During this breather, I get a chance to go back and revisit some of the family photos that I took during the holidays. I love getting a chance now to spend some time posting images from these beautiful sessions. This sweet family had me capture some photos over the holidays when they were all together in San Diego. They wanted to remember this fleeting time while their little one was still little. They were all so much fun to photograph and it was such a pleasure to watch this darling boy interact with his parents, grandparents and aunties 🙂

The Mom & Me sessions we held at So Childish this year are truly  some of my most favorite photos. These photos were extra special because they were such a rare occasion for these sweet mamas. Over and over again, I heard them say that they never get photos with their little ones. So many of them lamented that they were always the ones taking the pictures, but were never in them. Some of them said they felt like they didn’t exist when they looked back at their camera rolls. I was so glad that we could change that! These images capture the joy between these mothers, grandmothers and their babies. I hope they bring lots of smiles and happy memories for years to come!
