This month is officially Childhood Cancer Awareness month and I want to share some photos from our summer fundraiser event at So Childish. We set up the lemonade stand and I captured some incredibly sweet little faces. Between this event and the Summer Walkabout, we were able to raise $500 to make a donation to the Children’s Oncology Group in memory of our dear friends’ daughter, Hazel, who battled AML (acute myeloid leukemia). The first photo below is Hazel’s photo from last year. We all miss her dearly, but her sweet smile and fighting spirit will live on forever. More than anything, we want her battle to bring more awareness and research to AML so a cure can be found for this terrible disease. In Hazel’s mom’s words, “Dr. Soheil and his team at Child’s Oncology Group are taking strong strides with their Target Pediatric AML Project to help children with AML find treatments for long term survival and a CURE. While all childhood cancers deserve more research and better treatments, Pediatric AML is severely underfunded and why this project is so important.” We love and miss you, sweet Hazel!

Little Hope has to be one of the sweetest babies I’ve ever met, but I wouldn’t expect anything less knowing the rest of her family 🙂 I loved spending the morning with these girls and their beautiful mama. Thanks to her adoring big sister, Hope even gave us a few tiny smiles. One of my favorite things to capture as a family photographer is the relationship between siblings and as you can see from these images, these girls have an amazing connection. I hope these photos bring many smiles and happy memories for years to come!
